The title "All colors surround the central sun" (Todas as cores redeiam o sol central) is a fragment of the book "Galaxies" written by Haroldo de Campos.
A cube formed by three medium-size monitors is suspended and revolves around its own axis.
On each extremity of the room there is a speaker (points A and B), that diffuse the recorded phrase « All colors surround the central sun ». But the sentence is played out in fragments of syllables that are recombined randomly.
This mash-up of voices create an unintelligible dialogue, and from this cacophony emerges unexpected words and meanings.
The video, like a lighthouse, propagates strong colored light that represents the sun.
Both movements - centrifugal and centripetal, contraction and expansion, light and sound - are thus synthesized into a single object/ space.
The exhibition was held with the support of Brazil Contemporary Art Program and the Award "Mostras de Artistas no Exterior" from São Paulo Biennial Foundation and the Brazilian Ministry of Culture.
