TRANSLITERATIONS

Drawings

Transliteration is the process of transcribing the writing of one alphabet into another, for example the Cyrillic alphabet of Russian, into the latin alphabet with 26 letters of Portuguese. Differently from translation, that requires the exterior reality of the word to be done (the concept, the signified), transliteration supposes a direct correspondent that does not call upon an exterior referent.

The drawings are based on the work of the German sculptor Franz Xavier Messerschmidt.

The central idea is: how can I grasp the energy that pervades his works and the different mediations in the process of drawing?

How can I express the abstract idea of force that drives the creation?
