Based upon the novel “The Land at the End of the world” (“Os Cús de Judas”) written by the Portuguese writer António Lobo Antunes, the video juxtaposes two narratives. On the one hand we hear in voice over the traumatic war recollections of a young man, whereas on the other hand we see a male body trying to wash itself clean of a ubiquitous black substance.
The tension between these two narratives symbolically evokes the man´s attempt to wash himself clean of his troublesome memories and to forget them.
